Tell us about yourself.
I am Florence Sakyi, the third born of four kids. I am easy to get along with, always eager to learn, and strive to do my best in whatever I do. I am always motivated to develop, grow, and make a significant difference wherever I find myself.
When I am not busy acquiring merchants and driving the Cellulant mission, I use my spare time to sing and listen to my favourite African artist, Nathaniel Bassey, a gospel singer and songwriter. I also like to bake all kinds of pastries for my loved ones.
Where would you go and why if you could go anywhere?
Canada! -It has one of the longest ski seasons in the world, countless UNESCO World Heritage sites, and some of the most incredible natural wonders you can see on the planet.
If you could only eat one type of food for the rest of your life, what would that be?
I could eat Banku and Okoro soup every other day! Banku is a local Ghanaian dish made from corn dough.
How did you know about Cellulant?
Seeing Tingg by Cellulant table talkers in different stores for in-store collections was one of the points of contact. So I did my research and noticed the company deals with offering digital payment solutions to businesses.
What attracted you to Cellulant?
Every once in a while, I would run into Tingg by Cellulant table talkers in stores for payment collection, and I appreciated the effort to digitize payments. I wanted to work for a company setting a solid foundation for digital payments locally and for the continent with a mission to create transformation in Africa by enabling seamless payments for businesses, banks, and consumers in Ghana and Africa.
What do you love most about working at Cellulant?
What I love most about Cellulant is the opportunity the company avails for learning and how we celebrate our people. Hard work does not go unnoticed. The reward & recognition culture is one I admire.
What achievements are you most proud of so far, and What has been the most exciting part of the job?
Getting employed full-time as an Associate Analyst: Partnerships after interning in the Cellulant Ghana office. I was over the moon to have been confirmed by a leading Pan-African payments company—especially my contribution to the Ghana market.
I work with cross-functional teams while in Ghana. I primarily interact with young and brilliant colleagues from different markets, such as Kenya, Nigeria, and Zambia. I always learn other things about different cultures, which makes me embrace our Pan-African working methods.
Who has been the most significant influence in your career & why?
My sister; is my number one fan. She never takes no for an answer and makes sure what she sets her mind to do, and she gets it done. Not only that, but she pushes me out of my comfort zone and makes me understand that there is nothing I cannot achieve if I set my mind to it.
Eric Kortey- My country manager has been a great mentor and support system in my career at Cellulant. He granted me the opportunity to learn and be my best self.
Regina Mwanza-My Mentor. I couldn’t have asked for a better leader. She believes in me so much that it makes it hard not to work hard. She is always there to teach, support, and correct. Furthermore, she creates the platform for me to excel in what I do at Cellulant.
The entire Ghana Cellulant Team- The support they give and the team is always ready to teach. They never leave anyone behind, and a member’s success is regarded as success to all. This environment has made me who I am today.
What Cellulant value do you resonate with more?
It would have to be Customer Delight, whatever it takes. It is essential to offer outstanding customer loyalty and retention by creating excellent customer delight and satisfaction.
What do you do during your free time to relax?
I like to spend time with my family and friends in my free time. I also want to read a variety of books depending on the mood I am in.
In your own words, what does Cellulant want to do in Africa, and why is that inspirational for you?
Cellulant is creating opportunities that accelerate economic growth for all of Africa, building circles of trust through the power of connection. We believe in connecting all stakeholders to amplify our collective power, from merchants and banks to consumers from Ghana to Zambia and everything in between.
